MorningstarsThis new work is a comprehensive and chronological history of Georgia’s participation in the American Revolution, 1775–1783. The narrative and print make it easily read and the documentation is quickly accessible. Its 403 pages contain interesting and informative maps, exquisite portraits, and rare diagrams relating to that conflict. This work places special emphasis on biographies of Revolutionary-era personalities not readily available elsewhere. It has a full-name index, a hard cover, and a beautiful dust jacket. It is the first of four volumes concerning Georgia during the Revolution. Volume 2 will contain biographies of the commissioned officers of the Georgia Continental Line and Staff and service records of the enlisted personnel of the Georgia Continental Line. Volume 3 will contain chapters on the British Regular, German Auxiliary, Provincial, and Loyalist Militia units in Georgia, the Georgia Whig Militia, the Georgia State Line, women, treatment of prisoners, the bounty warrant system, and monuments to the personalities and places of Georgia’s Revolutionary effort. Volume 4 will be the history of the Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Georgia, 1783–Present.
